DIAGNOSTIC RADIOLOGY SERVICE
Mammography is a specialized type of imaging utilizing low-dose x-rays to identify early stages of breast cancer. Mammography can find a small cancer that is not yet able to be felt and thereby allowing treatment at an early stage, which increases chances of cure. The American Medical Association and American College of Radiology currently recommend annual mammograms for women over 40 years old without a personal or family history of breast cancer.
